
You are right. I need to limit the output current. I can try different resistors to achieve the right outcome. I will probably use a 12v power supply.I am going to assume that this resistor limits the current to the load.
The desired current will depend on the supply voltage and the resistance of the load.
Start with a 100Ω resistor and measure the voltage across this resistor. Use a lower value resistance for higher current.
The current can be calculated from Ohm's Law, I = V / R.
At 300ma and 33 ohms, you would need at least a 5w resistor..Excellent Mr Chips. I will give it a try. This maybe ties in with 220-300 milliamps to drive the slave clock.
When my timer arrives I will try it and post how successful it has been.

Can be 13 Ω, can be 43 Ω. Even 33 Ω....It looks like a light brown...
