Hey all,

I have a wireless router which brand is (Belkin), and I recentely bought a repeater to increase the signal,which brand is (Gigaset/Siemens).

Questions:

1- Is there ANY CHANCE that there is no compatability between these 2 brands?

Because I tried the configuration setup for the repeater, but it didn't work!

Procedure:

I did the following steps,please tell me if there is a step missing,or something wrong I did:

1- I inserted the SSID and Channel number the SAME for both Router and Repeater.
2- I inserted the same MAC address for both devices.
3-I put the same encryption type(security mode) which is WPA-PSK

I don't know whats wrong!! Actually I got an increased signal from the repeater,but I can't connect to the Internet...

Can you say "OOPS!"? The MAC address can only be used once!

You were on the right track until you got to MAC address cloning. You only really need to use address cloning if your ISP requires it, which is extemely rare anymore.

drop any entered MAC addresses and let the hardware use the encoded address from the manufacturer. You might have to reboot your cable modem/ dsl router afterwards.
