Recommendations on building a circuit

Hi all,

A newbie to the forums here asking a question. For a project on the university we plan on making a snap-on laptop case (for the 15" Macbook Pro and HP Zbook Studio G3/G4) with a built-in battery, external storage and port extensions (only for the Macbook version). We have found all components but we still need to connect them to the laptop. We plan on using the two Thunderbolt 3 ports on the side of the laptops to connect the case to the laptops. The question we have now is how to connect everything together. We expect to need some kind of controller to connect the port extensions (
2 USB3.0 ports, an HDMI port, two type-C/thunderbolt 3 ports, and an SD card reader), a controller to connect the lipo batteries and some controller to connect the ssd (M.2).

We don't necessarily have to build the product itself, but we do need a feasible plan to build the product. Could anyone give us some pointers as to what kind of circuit we would need for this and an estimate cost?

Thank you!
Glennn
