I'm drawing up specs for a headphone amplifier to be used mainly with the "earbud" phones of smartphones. My first query is their typical impedance and power levels required.
I'd prefer that it also be able to drive standard "over-ear" types which are (or were so far as I remember) typically 8 ohms and perhaps half a watt.
The required outcome is, of course a suitable chip to be used. The long list on suppliers websites (Digikey etc.) convinced me to post this thread in the hope that someone with past experience here may be able to narrow the search.
Most grateful for any info, suggestions or comments.
