I have been looking for ( reasonable priced) source of these " one time usage" phenol (?) experimental boards with VERY useful , one side, pattern. Size about 2x3 inches. I have not found such pattern in ANY protoboards ! These boards appear at random and their price is unbelievable - I think RS sold therm for less than $2 a piece.

I have used Veroboard strip board often. Now that I have a small CNC engraver, I can custom make my own PCB at short notice, even for one-off projects.

A better description, or picture, would be helpful. You mention a pattern, so presumably it's something other than hole per pad...

I get my prototyping boards for less than $0.99 for small sizes from a surplus store nearby.

Thanks for posting the actual board and price. That is one of the patterns RS sold. It seems that 1. some people just cannot read (the post). 2. the post generate irrelevant traffic if it does not include picture PS The above are reasons , for me, I prefer AI "chat" and I fully expect disagreement with my post.

Perhaps AI would be best for you.

I hope my post, indicating boards similar to what Radio Shack used to sell are available on Amazon, is not considered "irrelevant traffic". Since you specified "a pattern" without further description and "not being able to find them ANYWHERE", I thought this might lead you in a useful direction.

What pattern? We are not mind readers, so we have no idea what you consider to be a "VERY useful, one side, pattern".

What do you consider an "unbelievable" price. Radio Shack has been out of business for a decade and there's such a thing as inflation. So, is $3 unbelievable to you? Or are you only finding them for $13 and that's what you consider unbelievable? Again, we aren't mind readers. So we offer advice as best we can on guessing what you mean when you don't provide that information.

A three minute web search found LOTS of patterned solderable breadboards, many for under $1. Here's just one of them:

Note that you get twelve boards for $10. But each one isn't exactly 2"x3", but is 1.9"x1.75". Or, if unsnapped, you get three 3.8"x3.5" boards. Snapped in half, you get six 3.5"x1.9" boards, which is close to 2"x3", making them $1.67 each (is that believable?).

Then there's this:

These are double sided and $5.59/ea in single quantities.

Then there's this one:

These are available in a pack of 10 for 3.5"x2.05" in a pack of 10 for $16.99, making them under the $2 a piece that you seem to have set as being believable.

But perhaps these are not what you consider "VERY useful" patterns.
