Hi all,

I’ve been looking around for components for a small project and came across <snip>

Has anyone here had experience with their parts or know how they compare in quality/reliability to more common suppliers?

Just trying to get a sense of whether they’re worth considering for hobby or lab use.

Thanks in advance!

I get most of my parts from Digikey, they drop them at my door next day air for CAN$8.00 , Custom cleared.
I do order the odd item from AliExpress , takes about a week min, in spite of the name (*Express!). :(
So far I have not had a problem !

In my earliest years of electronic and electrical experimanting and construction projects, most of my parts came from assorted discarded electronic devices, primarily Televisions and radios. This source was cheap and easy and local, three requirements for a kid not nearly old enough to drive a car, or even be taken seriously at most parts stores.
It also provided a lot of experience in evaluating components condition and quality. In addition, that source lead to a greater understanding of the effect of component variations and tolerances.
Of course, in that era scrapped televisions contained parts with actual leads, long enough to be reused easily. Surface mount components are vastly more difficult to recover and re-use, often simply impossible without a more sophisticated system of recovery not available to most of us.
