Hi,
I have seen in many designs that a capacitor is placed between The driver integrated circuit and the DC motor (i.e L293D Motor shield). I want to know how exactly the capacitor is able to protect the IC and how to calibrate the capacitor properties when using a motor (say 12V DC motor for example).
