Problem with vaccum cleaner fuse

Dear All

recently bought house and inherited a vaccum cleaner . it was not working in first place . i changed the fuse of it and then it started working but for few minutes and then stopped working again . not sure what is a problem . can anybody please help .

HI is normal portable vaccum cleaner . i have just uploaded the pics of it. i just want to know if its small fault and i can fix it or its not worth it and i should buy the new one.

When you say "working", do you mean it was making a good vacuum or just making noise? My hunch is that it's binding up mechanically, perhaps from hair wound around the axis. Whatever the cause, the binding causes excess current draw and it blows the fuse. If it's bad bearings, it's probably beyond (worthwhile) repair. If it's just hair or carpet fibers, you might be able to find and remove that. If you can get to the moving parts, see if the motor spins freely by hand (while unplugged, of course).

If it is a simple vac and not a Dyson etc! Then the cost of bearings and brushes are around $10.00.
I just replaced them in my central vac.
It is up to you if you want to strip it and re-build it.
First check the cord for shorts etc.
