Hi all, this is my first post on this forum. I have been given a SoundLab SP6 stereo power amp but it has a fault. One of the channel outputs works fine but the other channel is barely audible-any suggestions as to what might be the fault?

Don't have the faintest about what is inside the amp. The nice thing, though, with a stereo amp is that there are two identical channels. To start off, swap the speakers to insure the problem is in the amp.

Use whatever test equipment you have to A - B test the amplifier channels. In general, passive components fail because some associated active device has gone bad. You can also visually inspect for popped open capacitors, burnt resistors, and the like.

If you can obtain a schematic, it will help considerably.
