problem with mcp79511 xtal

encounter problems with mcp79511 xtal osc not running ( is activated in software).
external 32 kHz will activate rtc.
I did check xtal, resonator and cap's.
still not running.
any idea?

We had a similar issue, it was caused by CONTROL, EXTOSC bit. It should be 0 at power on reset, but on some occasions it can spuriously become 1 (External oscillator mode).
