How can you get fat while eating symbols? You need the nice and contented flock of 'sheep' until culled. The NK problem is the sheep are pretty thin and are looking for a chance to jump the fence to greener pastures. If only it were a symbiotic relationship, instead of parasite-host ...

According to the report, Beek has indeed written proof-of-concept code for ransomware that can hide in a CPU. Reassuringly, he promises they won't release it.
Is he really thinking this is something new and innovative?"could in theory "allow those intruders to load unapproved microcode into the processors, breaking encryption at the hardware level and modifying CPU behavior at will."
Has there been ransomware microcode in the past? I am not aware of it.Is he really thinking this is something new and innovative?
There have been microcode (potential and real) exploits in processors since the first microcode processor. Ransomware exploits for common thieves, like the guys in NK stealing for the leaderships fancy food budget.Has there been ransomware microcode in the past? I am not aware of it.
I think the engineers that make the Chinese gear want these 'features' to be found. Most are so obvious it's ridiculous to think it's going to be secret. I'm sure it's just like the ESP32 'debugging' commands that were found. Just a simple bug in the firmware.Chinese companies are required by law to cooperate with China's intelligence agencies, giving the government potential control over Chinese-made inverters connected to foreign grids, experts said.

Likely just a few Rogue Engineers that once worked for VW.control freaks ...
And now VW, who find themselves engulfed by emissions test fixing scandals, are suggesting that rogues working as engineers at VW are to blame.
“We just do what they allow us to do,” writes an anonymous rogue in a book that promises to ” lift the lid ” on rogue culture, breaking their strict code of silence.
“Or we just do what everyone else is doing…but with a naughty glint in our eye, and a cheeky smile.”
However rogue community leaders have distanced themselves from the new book, dismissing it as the work of a rogue rogue.

Then you'll have no problem installing them in your server room.Just a simple bug in the firmware.
It don't trust any of the cheap Chinese networking stuff with mystery binary blobs for wireless or networking. That doesn't mean I can't use it once it's been sanitized. Then you'll have no problem installing them in your server room.
It's the discovery of cellular radios that concern me the most. Our firewalls are useless against them.It don't trust any of the cheap Chinese networking stuff with mystery binary blobs for wireless or networking. That doesn't mean I can't use it once it's been sanitized.
They are in the house (not in my server room or in my solar control systems, that's all designed by me so I know exactly what's happening) but I have blacklists for rogue machines that try to call home. I run PORTSENTRY and various network monitoring tools on the firewall machine.

The firewall logs are huge after a few weeks of monitoring the Internet.
That's why the US banned those companies a few years ago from selling in the US and dumped their equipment. As usually the media is years behind what the Intel guys on this sort of stuff. It's the discovery of cellular radios that concern me the most. Our firewalls are useless against them.

Very well, then. It looks like we got the CCP exactly where we want them. That's why the US banned those companies a few years ago from selling in the US and dumped their equipment. As usually the media is years behind what the Intel guys on this sort of stuff.
