Hi everyone!

I need some helps from you guys

I have a LED light for aquarium. The LED light is fine, but the Power adapter has broken. I wanted to buy a new power adapter, however, the original adapter only mentioned 12W instead of ie. 12V 1A, 12v 2A... So, It's hard for me to buy a new power adapter.

Is it possible to find out what power adapter should I buy? I have attached some image of my LED lights.

Have you got the original PSU, what voltage do the leds need.?

 

Your LEDs have "24V" etched into the board, so that may be what you need. But a good picture of the old power supply with any writing on it would help.

Thanks for the reply! Unfortunately, I lost the label that stick on the power adapter 2 months ago. But I guess it should be 12v... I have just removed the power adapter's cover. I noticed there's a text on the board, 12V/1A... is this the spec of this power adapter??? and I also don't know why they put a double-side tape behind the board and it burns....no wonder the adapter is hot... (facepalm)

Since the LED light is 12W... And the power adapter's board got mentioned 12V / 1A....

The calculation would be: 12V x 1A = 12W

So, The power supply that I need to buy is 12V/1A , right?

Will it solve the power adapter heating problem if I buy 12V/2A?

Yes get a 3A one better , but the LEDs need 24V.
