What is the best way to wound a PMSM so as the efficiecy remains +90% and the starting and running torque are high.
First, how are you driving the motor. Are you simply changing the input voltage to change the speed? You can get much better low speed torque by using full voltage but changing the duty cycle with pulse width modulation (PWM).

Finally, running torque, an electric motor has essentially zero torque at full speed. Nothing you can do about that.

So, to answer your question, I see no reason to change winding unless you know that it is wound incorrectly from the beginning. So, how is your motor currently wound?
