Please stop locking threads without an explanation

If mods think a thread needs to be locked then that is fine. But there should at least be a brief explanation of why it was locked.

This thread for example.

Locked with no explanation. I will assume it was deemed political. While I am against political threads I really don't see it as political rather more bureaucratic. Everyone was being civil (for the most part). The backbiting with comes with most political threads is really the problem with political threads and not so much the subject itself. But I think behavior was pretty relaxed in that thread (again for the most part).

I guess locking it is no big deal just it would have been nice if whoever locked it put a sentence or two as to why.

But if you pay attention it's almost always the same ones that take it in that direction.
