Please explain this pulse filter

Hello, could you please help me understand how the capacitor/diode network works? It is fed from a negative pulse and i have troubles to imagine how the currents flow. The explanation in the article doesn't help. This circuit feeds a radar magneton with high voltage pulses and ensures there is a round corner before the voltage reaches the roof. I just don't get how is that achieved.
Could someone prease redraw it for a positive voltage pulse?

Thank you. I see. The first pulse just charges the cap and so the following pulse sees the fast diode reverese polarised because its voltage is less than the cap's till it reaches Vz.
