With Pluto having been demoted, what shall we call this one? Donald Duck?:D
Well... it'd be better than calling it Mikey Mouse... I sort of like the name as it is: "Planet Nine"... it sounds like the title of one of those old cheesy movies by Ed Wood

I vote for Goofy.
Mickey Mouse visits his lawyer to get a divorce from Mini Mouse. The attorney inquires as to the reason. Mickey responds "because she is #$%&"=@ goofy. The attorney tells Mickey he will have a hard time getting a divorce for reasons of mental disability. Mickey responds " no you don't understand. She has been #$%&"=@ Goofy"!

This thing is supposed to be huge. Why could they not detect it long ago? Something with a large mass like that has to have an effect on other objects. They didn't at least know something was out there?

It's closest approach to the sun is at 200 times the earth's orbit radii from the sun. Also, it has a period of between 10,000 and 20,000 years! ... that makes it very hard to find using conventional, brute-force methods

Because it only approached our solar system recently.

It already has a name. "Death Star".
