These are from a trip this Thanksgiving to the Dumont dunes near Baker, Ca.

Looks to me like a long exposure of the buggies driving up and around the sand dune.

That is it exactly. In picture #2, the only buggies you see are the ones setting still. You are only seeing the lights on the buggies climbing the hill. In picture #3 we had to stay still for about 15 seconds to get that picture.

Must be difficult life living so close to the water. Do you sail?

Does the marina freeze over in the winter? If so will most people pull their boats or do they use bubblers?
