PICKit 2 - No Device Detected

Hello people,

I got 2 clone recorders. When I go to record or read something in any uc, the PICKit 2 Programmer shows the screen with yellow background with the message "No Device Detected".
I checked the board's components and didn't find the damaged one.

Anything hints where to start?

If connections to device are correct then sometimes this error is thrown if the PIC device is not powered up. Also check if the programming lines (reset, clock, data, LVP) aren't connected to components what can interfere with programmer. See this recommendation from PICkit3 poster.
