PIC programmer upgrade

I think I will still hang on to my Pickit 2 if no other than the stand alone programmer but I find the built in Signal generator and Analyzer a handy tool.

I had no idea my PicKit2 could do that... WOW!!! Well isn't that just incredibly mind-blowingly useful!

...why doesn't the PicKit3 do that!?

...so the answer is "because we were too busy dicking around with camcorders" ?

The rant was funny though.

Also not sure what devices the PicKit2 can't support... I know it wont program my PIC16F1509 from MPLAB, but the stand-alone programmer will quite happily... and I see no reason why that should be the case. Maybe if they spent less time dicking around with camcorders and Movie Maker?

OK I got the generic No. wrong it is the PIC18f23/40/44k22 series.
I went to these because of the amount of multiplexed pins flexibility.
