Hello,
I'm attempting to build a schematic that's based off a pump prototype I've made. CN1 and CN2 are both 12v pumps, I've added the CH340G and a USB port for editing the code easily in the future. Ignore the fact that its an ATMEGA with unconnected pins (more to come). My circuit has an overall kill switch (SW1) providing power to the whole board when flipped, as well as an override switch (SW2) which will ground both pumps when pressed turning both ON. The pumps also receive power from the micro controller when a countdown is activated - Gate of mosfet is connected to atmega thru a 220 pull-up resistor. My question is this: will the N-channel mosfet ground the circuit when signal is received or is a P-channel required in this case? I originally went with a voltage step-up for the signal pin, however this seems like adding an extra component that isn't needed? (I might be reaching there..)
I apologize in advance for the sloppy wiring and if its confusing to trace, I'm new to the PCB game. looking for feedback on the schematic, but more so if this will function as desired. Thanks!
