I need to look into making a pcb that acts as a connector interface for a box that will have vacuum at 30inHg. What do I need to think about? What type of connectors do I have to look for? I am guessing that I cannot just use a mini fit jr connector?

 

Google up 'gland' connectors. There should be several types that are air or moisture sealed

 

I wanted to use that, but they wanted to use a PCB.... It seems a little overkill to me, but you know how some engineering places are....

Just FYI...if you are measuring in InHg, you are not dealing with high vacuum.

 

If you need 'real' high vacuum Instrumentation connectors then this might give you an idea of what to use.
