Overheating after cleaning heatsink improperly

So I am guessing its the heatpipe that failed, any ideas on how to disassemble and check, since the motherboard is over the heatpipe and there is no way to check without removing the board, plus the battery has to stay in place and the plastic is holding it. I thought it was just 1 iron, not with a fluid inside.

Having removed the pipe and heatsink, hold the heatsink and put the other end in near boiling water. The heatsink should get hot fast.
