No you are wrong. I guess you used wiki as your source. In Scandinavia then the fjords are frozen during winter time. Shrimps are trapped in the the ice. By cutting the ice the shrimps can be harvested. Here is picture from a typical scandinavian family harvesting shrimps on the fjord

I also live in Canada. Winter started in December and ended in April so it was only 4 months long.
Of course if you live near the North Pole where nobody lives then it is winter for half the year or longer.

Getting ready for the sea,which one runs off your coast.

 

Yes, It's about 45 min drive with the car, and then we're at the boat. So now I'm packing the car with pillows, knives, forks, spoons, ropes, propane, gardenhose, the sails, and buckets and soap. There's a bit washing and cleaning after one winter under the plastic cover.

 

Question,does plastic freeze in very low tempertures,does any parts become brittle.
The covers protect it,salt or fresh water sailing.The same question about fiber glass
and wood.
