Jarrod DeFerrari, from Sunrise, Florida, has been charged with felony riot and three counts of first-degree criminal mischief.

The district attorney's office, citing court documents, says DeFerrari is accused of unlawfully and intentionally damaging and destroying property of Riverside Tobacco, St. André Bessette Catholic Church and Alco Properties.

FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – A man died after he was run over by a car early Monday morning in Sunrise.

It happened around 4:30 a.m. on University Drive near Sunset Strip.

Sunrise police said the man had been fighting with his girlfriend and threatened to lie down in the road. He did and that’s when he was struck by a car, according to police.

When I was a kid in Florida in the 50s, one of our neighbors had a .30 cal. water-cooled BMG on a tripod for a lawn ornament. My how things have changed...

 

I am from Tampa, FL and lived in Port Saint Lucie, FL for a good chunk and unfortunately my "step" Grandfather was one of the crazy Florida people that the media labels so well. It was nice living on the coast and its not as bad as the inland counties where most of the "Florida man" type people lived, but most crazy things you see about Florida people are true. The women are just as bad if not worse. They just don't care about them for some reason.
