Sheriff arrests daughter...
I really wished her name was Crystal.
What a sad, sad story. I have a great respect for him as a sheriff... though as a father, I don't know what to think... I would've probably made a written statement and not an interview right away.
I would've probably made an interview a few days or weeks after the event.

The guy broadcasts/livestreams most of his sting operations. Why would he turn down his publicity machine on the most watchable take-down? He's a "Florida Man".

Stupid road-rage on both sides.
Florida man swings knife and then calls the cops when the victim pulls a gun.
Still not participating, but:

Mr. Motorcycle needs to practice drawing from his IWB holster.

If Mr. Auto really wanted to cut him, he had plenty of time.

Mr. Auto could have gutted Mr. Motorcycle if he really wanted from that close. The entire huff-n-puff episode was stupid.

Inside 21 feet, one must be prepared (translation: practice, practice, practice) to execute just a bit of jujitsu to buy enough time to draw, aim, and shoot. Used to do a lot of this in my younger days.

That's why my little girl is earning her black-belt in addition to firearms training.

This 'Florida Man' episode was a classic overreaction by both sides. Part of the training to be capable in the 'art' of self-protection is walking away and avoiding confrontation because any act of force is unpredictable no matter how good you are.
Exactly! And kids are the best at controlling emotions so get a gun in their hands early, right? They'll know what to do.

Pensacola is a great town. Several years ago I went down to Florida to visit old friends. I decided to stop in Pensacola to see the NAVAIR museum. I ended up staying a few days just to see it all. Plenty of watching the Blue Angels practice too. Outstanding sea food!

Only stopped at the station once while changing duty stations from Key West to San Diego (rode my CB750 chopper cross-country) but I did radio communications with the old training carrier USS Lexington went they were at sea in the Gulf of Mexico from the Keys.
Pensacola was my first overnight stop on the trip.

I was only TAD there once for a few weeks. Never saw much of anything. Thinking maybe 70 or 71. Have plenty of old friends in Florida and am likely due for a visit. Maybe this winter when it sucks to be here. :) Absolutely enjoyed the NAVAIR museum. I also need to get down to Dayton and check out the Air Force museum.

Fond memories of the Lex.

Make an appointment so you can get a personal tour of the vintage (Kennedy era) AF 1. You can also get up close and personal with a B2 - no place else has this one and it is beautiful up close (no matter how poorly it flies).

Ya know funny you mentioned the Kennedy era AF1. My sister lives in Columbus and we were just talking about that plane, the one LBJ was swore in on. I figure we will drive down from Cleveland to Columbus, stay at my sister's and do the short drive to Dayton. She gave me the full narrative on that plane. I have seen the B1 do flyby up here at the Cleveland National Air Shows. Up close and personal would be fun.

Pregnant woman arrested after ‘tantrum’ in McDonald’s, sheriff says
POLK COUNTY, Fla. (WFTS) - A pregnant woman from Florida is facing several charges after authorities say she threw a “violent tantrum” inside McDonald’s over the amount of time her order was taking.
...
Sheriff Grady Judd says she also called 911 to complain about her service.

“She dialed 911 and complained about her order at McDonald’s. So, things went from bad to worse,” he said. “Her sister tried to get her out of the McDonald’s. She wouldn’t do that. Instead, she continued on her rant and her rage.”

Before finally leaving the McDonald’s, Jones allegedly lifted up her shirt, exposing her belly to employees, and began twerking at them.

“You know, I don’t know what was wrong with her that night. I don’t know if she was, like, two fries short of a Happy Meal, or … she was short of a Happy Meal completely, but she created a McMess,” Judd said.

How slow was that McDonald's? How entitled is that mother-to-be? How Hangry was that mother-to-be? Similar problems in Miami - all the people who used to work at the bars and restraints are leaving town because rent (and all property) has become "too damn expensive" and now nobody is left to serve the rich people who have moved in. It seems Miami is attracting all the work-from-come-forever staff that didn't want to put up with the Silicon Valley/New York cold, Washington DC traffic, ... and spiked the Miami housing prices
