For plastics, I am not talking about plastics as in packaging, I am talking about the nano/micro plastics that are now within the food chain as well as our drinking water. They are finding actual plastic within the animals we are eating as the microplastics are now everywhere in the environment. Search for plastics in meat as an example. They are finding micro/nano plastics in our own stool.

If greenhouse gas levels keep increasing at much faster than natural rates, the situation for many is going to be much worse in a few years. Already Alaska is suffering in areas due to rising temperatures and disruptions in the permafrost. Already many coastal areas are struggling with sea level rising and looking at the additional costs to manage it. A report shows that within a decade, it may be impossible to work outside in the southern states during mid-day. Work days may have to become like those in Spain and other hotter countries.

Insurance companies are now demanding updated flood maps for many areas due to rising sea levels and increased storm caused flooding issues such as along the Mississippi river basin this year. This will bankrupt many around Canada and the US. Insurance changes will devalue many homes and make them unsaleable.

Increasing solar size and output gives us about a billion years before the Sun will make earth unlivable. Greenhouse gasses will speed up the process. Like a closed car on a sunny day, greenhouse gases trap in the heat better. So, with more solar output from the sun, the rate of temperature increase will be even worse with more greenhouse gases.

 

You don't work for AOC do you? Plant a garden if you are worried about it that much. The earth will still be here in ten, twenty or even fifty years and I'll be gone so I'm in the safe zone and NOT going to spend my time thinking what if this or what if that stuff. When I see a Full investigation of it done by a load of people not just some college hacks then you'll have me on board. We all ready covered the Al Gore and carbon credits lies. It's all designed to scare you and get your money. That's what these people do. I live in Alabama and yes it's hot here always has been as long as I can remember. Beaches still look the same to me every time I go.

 

It's all a question of scale and perspective and realising that while each of us is an individual, everything is allegedly just energy recycling itself in a finite ...arena/space/thing and may in fact be NOTHING. For all the original poster knows, this thing we call a universe is one experiment in an LHC-type machine somewhere and our notion of time and what surrounds us is distorted. 4.6 billion years or 4.6 picoseconds? No, I'm not on drugs. Bring on the black hole we are being sucked into but will never live to see happen.
