Hello all,

I have been confusing the output characteristics of NPN and PNP. Please can any one draw the graphs and explain?.

Show us what circuit you are talking about. There are many configurations that can be used with different output characteristics.

Transistors have three basic configurations and they each perform different functions. The configurations are:
  1. Common Emitter
  2. Common Base
  3. Common Collector
Pick one and we can continue the conversation.

The fundamental difference between an NPN and a PNP bipolar transistor is that, when in the active region, the collector and base of the NPN are more positive than the emitter, and for a PNP the collector and base are more negative than the emitter.
So identical circuits can be built with either, but the signal and bias polarities will be opposite.
