I 've surfed long enough to know an American date when I see one. What I asked was how early do you decorate your house for the vacations. Over at my place, since my sister is still very young, they put up a tree as early in December as she can talk my parents into.

 

I thought about it, I'm thinking about it, I'm tired.

There will be a fake Christmas tree, and indoor decorations. If I get very industrious (which is too say, probably not) then I will light up the house and bushes. I have the decorations in the box.

I 'm not going to decorate the house. I 'm at an age where it's not a must, and living alone is one more reason to it. When we gather over at grandma's house, we 'll decorate that one.

 

Yeah, if either of us get married it all changes.

Reminds me of a saying...

There is also another expression, Honey do.

As in Honey do this, and Honey do that.

It's right at the end; "add rum to taste".
Never tried it myself, I'm not a fan of sweet drinks.

 

I like to add about a shot of rum to a gallon of eggnog, but there are members of my family who like a little eggnog with their rum.

I like it light on the rum myself, and for the kiddies I buy rum flavoring, or use vanilla flavoring.

I am not a total teatotaller, but I don't drink much.

Add Rum to taste.

That is worded perfectly vague. I think it must be universal in the US, some people put just a touch of rum to add a new flavor to the mix, and others add a touch of egg nog to a mug of rum to add in some Holiday Spirit. Then you have pretty much everybody else somewhere between those two extremes.

 

I sometimes picture Bill as Santa...
