I'm more a less a newb when it comes to electronics, but swaping out this component doesn't seem to be a difficult task, seeing the simplicity of the pcb board.
I just just have no idea what component it could be? It looks like a capacitor to me, but what do I know?
Also, what's the "corrosion" or whatever it is on the bottom pic? I assume the component shorted out or exploded in some way causing that.
