Need guidance on wiring an auto fwd/rev linear actuator

Hello all,

I am making a linear actuator that I would like to auto forward/rev indefinitely until powered off. I've seen many posts and videos, but being a beginner student/hobbyist, I am having trouble understanding the wiring and concept.

I've read this can be accomplished using 2 limit switches (one at each end of the actuator cycle), 2 diodes, and a fwd/rev relay module like this? (https://rb.gy/m14d2). I'm not sure how this all connects. This is my first real electronics project beyond wiring a DC motor to a 12v battery.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for reading.

Welcome to AAC.

The module you have selected will work and is easy to wire. This is the diagram you want:

The forward and reverse switches will be your limit switches. If you have any questions, just ask.
