my indoor Air conditioning unit short-circuited after cleaning and this is the component that gets damaged. currently i replaced the entire board from a similar air conditioner and it works, but I'm wondering if I could fix this board.
I'm new here so not sure if this is the right place to ask.

Have a look at the replacement board and see what is written in the chip.

this is the component that gets damaged

It's a damaged integrated circuit with no identifiable markings left. You'll have to get the part number from the replacement board and hope that they're the same.

Replacing an obviously damaged component won't always fix the problem because the problem could have been caused by some other failure.

 

Looks like a switchmode psu chip, what's the make and model number of the air conditioner?
