Moderators note: This thread was split off the more formal 'blues' thread. Have fun.

Did you mean, "Music that's just weird"?

I did very much enjoy Dr. Demento on those rare occasions when I was driving a car at night in California. I wish I could have heard all his music, but I was busy having a life, with work and school and people friends.

I remember Pico and Sepulvada,
Early Frank Zappa like, "Help, I'm a rock".

Fun? Not fun? It depends on the dose, and I had very few hours to dose on Dr. Demento.

I did not make of the original title of the thread. That was Joey with a different intent. I just happened to take it to a whole new level. ;)

I sort of liked Weird Al Yankovic "Like a Surgeon" and "Fat"...
Weird Al Yankonit is the king of parody music!
I never see that guy without bustin' out in grins.:p
So much energy he puts into his work!

ps, Walter Becker, Steely Dan song writer died yesterday.:(
Same age as me, +/- 90 days.
I sure am glad I was riding a bicycle while he was smoking dope.
Gotta go chase the lawn mower now.;)
Wouldn't want a messy lawn when Hurricane "I" arrives.:D

It's a super oldie but one of my favorite novelty songs! It's Bob Seger bemoaning his victimization by an identity thief (boo hoo!):D
Indeed... The 'comic pathos' of Bob's l'ill cry being exceeded in the way of hilarity only by the exquisite -albeit unintentional- parody conjured via the oft-misheard lyrics: "I looked in my attic, I looked in the grill..."?!o_O

Mercilessly tickled by the Geographically Challenged...:D
HP:cool:

Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 is one of my favorite pieces of all time. Like many, I was introduced to it via cartoons (and there were several). Apparently, I was not alone as Ms Tan brings back the memory in creative style.

Let it all hang out - where the heck did they find these lyrics (BTW this is 1967, well before the Mellencamp remake)

edited to add - no idea why the Alice's Resteraunt album cover is shown on the video cap

Much Worse.

Old people might remember that this was the Theme song of the 2600 radio show (as in Emmanuel Goldstein and 2600 Hz AT&T unused long distance line fame).

Papa Oom Mow Mow - The Rivingtons (Co-opted by the Beach boys a few years later).

I understand that the Rivingtons collaborated with the iconic "Trashmen" to produce this classic "The Bird", or "Surfin Bird" to sell more.
