Multiple segments with LED driver

Hello,
I need to drive several 7 segment digits, where each of them has a "mirror". Something like an electronic scoreboard where one side is facing the court and the other the operator and they show the same thing.

I was planning to use a led driver e.g. icm7218B but would I be able to drive 2 segments using 1 segment output pin at the same time (i need to drive 7 digits and the icm can handle 8)?
I have selected my displays, one is a 7 segment digit 5V 20mA per segment and the other is made of cob led strips 5V 60mA each (I need different brightness level and size).
Can I drive them in parallel?

An additional more generic question, do I need a resistor to limit the inrush current with a led driver? Not for the cob leds for sure.

Thanks!

Yes, drive them in parallel with resistors each to limit the sum of the two driving currents to match less than the maximum capability of the driver IC.
The one facing the operator can be much lower consumption, like 5mA per segment.

No inrush.
