The absurd monkey selfie copyright dispute over the copyright status of selfies taken by Celebes crested macaques initiated by British nature photographer David Slater. People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), who have argued that the macaque should be assigned the copyright, it has been decided that the said monkey cannot benefit from it!

They didn't call him to the stand because the attorneys on both sides agreed that they didn't want to be upstaged by a witness.
