I need to reset a circuit, 2volts, for 2 to 3 seconds

I have a TV lift , raises and lowers TV into ceiling
It has a 3 wire manual button for OPEN and CLOSE, has to be held in position to fully open or fully close, lift stops when button is released, lift has limit switches so stops when limit is reached
The 3 Contacts on lift are
OPEN
REF
CLOSE

REF connected to either opens and closes lift to it's limit

Lift does have IR control but...., the new Cable TV system has a Remote you Talk into so can't use universal remote, Bluesky TV

TV lift does have 110vAC plug that turns on and off with lift up(off) or down(on), but can't use it with Smart TV because had to redo setup every now and then because of power loss
But it is available as trigger

I used USB Port on TV, it has 5v TV on, 0v TV off
Installed a SPDT 5v relay using USB break out board
It works, but................
Because OPEN or CLOSED stays connected to REF with relay position it isn't reliable, have to turn TV on and off a few times to get lift to move
I found if I momentarily break the REF connection it works every time

Tried DPDT 5v relay opening and closing REF connection but still happens too fast to be reliable

So need 5v detected disconnect REF for 2 seconds then reconnect
And 0v detected disconnect REF for 2 seconds and reconnect
REF has to stay reconnected for lift to move all the way to each limit

 

I see you typed this in fine English but when I read it I feel like I'm reading a different language. I'm not trying to troll you here, just trying to let you know that for whatever reason, each and every sentence above fails to convey the problem at hand with words that make sense to me. It's probably mainly my reading comprehension skills at fault here so it would help if you could post a diagram of how the tv lift is wired currently and restate how you would like to modify it.

 

I have 3 device contacts
OPEN
REF
CLOSE

I have 3 wires from those contacts connected to a 5v SPDT relay
NO connects REF to OPEN, 5volt power on
NC connects REF to CLOSE, 5volt power off

I need to break the REF connection between device and relay briefly, longer than the relay does, when 5v relay changes states
