Now can we change it to something more succinct such as “Metal detector circuit in Proteus”?

 

To use the scope you need to place the ground on the negative rail somewhere.

I almost never use a battery. When using Proteus, the best option is to make small circuits ( check it works ) then redraw with digital equivalents, other wise you will be simulating syrup.

I think most of the virtual instruments require a ground.
