i'm designing a led strip of smd 2835 the number of leds 48 pcs on 0.6 m led strip.
i contact china manufacturer to design it on metal core pcb and it was ok but i need to solder the power supply to the led strip.
so i asked him to mount the power supply 220v on the strip and ge said For more safe of your product you can use fr4.
so my question is can i mount it in the strip or use fr4 as he said.
what are more safe for the smd
metal core is better for heat dissipating.

 

Is transformer isolation provided by the power supply?

 

non isolation power supply
power supply input 220v
output 36 to 86 volt and 240mA
