I have applied for a refund for the 24v 9W LED that seems not bright enough and which I measure as consuming closer to 5W. AliExpress appears to have approved the refund and I’m waiting for it to appear on my Visa statement. My dilemma now is whether to order a new 9W from the same or different seller or to order a 12W LED which might be closer to 9W in the real world. I’m inclined to order both (they are pretty cheap) but from a different seller. I’m not sure the seller matters as these all appear to be coming from them same manufacturer. Comments or suggestions?

 

I would try to find a different vendor, contact them before the purchase, explain the problem you had with the other vendor (don’t mention the refund), and ask them to confirm their offer is definitely for the 9W version.

A lot of AliExpress sellers are very attentive to customer communication because they depend on reputation. Try to choose one with a long tenure on AE (store information) and a lot of sales (the number sold appears with each item listing). These are generally the better ones and more concerned about long term reputation.
