Hello I want to measure the impedance of a circuit made of both reactive and resistive components.Is there a multimeter built which has this feature?

Does it also measure purely resistive loads?

 

I have an earlier version of one of these (black & white display); mine can measure (determine) the component values in a series RLC circuit – I assume it could also do the same for a parallel circuit. It can also display only R, L or C if that is all in the circuit.

 

Impedance is measured using an AC frequency that the simple multimeter does not produce.
Resistance is measured very simply using a DC voltage.
