I just built an astable oscillator which runs at roughly 1Hz, i want it to run with a 50% duty cycle but i don't know how to measure it, is there a way to measure both frequency and duty cycle at this low frequency?, my multimeters are not responding although they have a frequency measuring setting.

 

Don't you have an oscilloscope? I thought you've posted some waveform captures from it in other threads.

Yes but the line just goes up and down about once a second, the frequency readout doesn't respond, it just says below 10 Hz

2 micro seconds

 

i slowed the timebase down to 200 milliseconds....much better

now i can see the waveform.....

all good.
