it is connected to the gate of the SCR , I would also suspect that first.

Would you mind sharing the value of that C2 capacitor. Mine is toasted and can't see the numbers.

If it is connected across pin 1 & 2 of the G5551 then other boards that use the same IC use a 221K = 220pf
