There is a reverse engineered version of the MC2100 here if you do a search.
I may have a 18W ver here, if so will post the value.

Can you take a pic of the boards showing the C31 location?

Hi, I have the same issue here. C31 was burnt and causing a short on the board. I have removed it and it is no longer short. When powered on without C31 on the board the led blinks 8 times. Does anyone know if replacing c31 will solve this? If so does anyone know the value of c31? I'm thinking 10uf but unsure of v.
Thanks in advance.

The model I have which has a C31 is on a version that uses a SMPS for the 12vdc.
C31 has 2229 on it where tha value normally is, not sure of what the 9 signifies.
It appears to be a ceramic or even a Tantalum.
As a last resort, you could add a normal linear supply as most of the other model versions do.

Thank you for the info! Very much appreciated

Would it be possible for you to post a picture of it?
