I m trying to calculate max allowable power dissipation over TLC5973
in datasheet it is not mentioned max power dissipation, http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/sbvs225b/sbvs225b.pdf
but they mentioned Tj=125 and Ta=85 (Table 6.3), θJA=134.6 (Table 6.4)
I found another document : http://www.ti.com/lit/an/slva462/slva462.pdf
It says:
PDmax = (TJmax-Ta)/θJA
for TLC5973:
PDmax = (125-85)/134.6 = 0.297W
my interpretation : "max allowable power dissipation for TLC5973 is 297mW @85°C air, 125°C case"
I m not sure, I need to verify :
1. are calculations true?
2. is my interpretation true ? how can I interprete calculated value : 297mW ?
I tried to get help from TI forum, but can not get clear answer.
