OK, so I said I'd provide photos but I haven't been in a position to take any of the MarXman in use.

However... I did find a novel use for it that I could photograph. I am working on a little circuit to make our old school electromagnetic Westminster bells doorbell more reliable. It has a small motor that runs the sequence of solenoid hammers to ring the tubular bells, and it has to reach the start of the wafer that holds the power on to run through them.

A short press doesn't get the wiper to the wafer and so it takes two or three short presses before the bell rings. I am making a little one shot to hold the motor on for a second or so to ensure it starts up properly. So... a 555, but is that little 8-pin package really a 555?
