I would like to know how to make inductive coils, the procedure and the materials needed.

I want to make a pair of inductive coils that are both solenoid, unlike common transformers. But please suggest if there are better forms than solenoid but still would make the two coils separable.

Please list the materials, like the type, length and diameter of the wire and core.
