Hi, so I’d like to use an old FireWire 400 device in a thunderbolt 3 port, and while this can be done with the use of several dongles —

FireWire 400 -> FireWire 800
FireWire 800 -> thunderbolt 2
Thunderbolt 2 -> thunderbolt 3
)

I’d prefer to make this a bit tidier (and cheaper) with a self made cable.

Is it possible? can Anybody tell me if there are circuits in the dongles above? Or is it simply a matter of wiring the right wires to the right connectors?
