I want to try and find out the best way to use an existing mag lock to send a message if the door does not close properly.

I have a Telemetry Unit that can send me a message on my cell phone if the door is open or closed or left open for a preset time.

All I can see in the Mag Lock is the power connections and there are two LED's:

Red when the door is open

Green when the door is closed.

Is there something I can fit so when the Green LED lights I get a closed switch and Red Open switch

I did something of the sort.

The deadbolt lock in my house uses status leds.
I believe I use those voltages and a 12F629 to sound an alarm if the door is open for more than a minute.

Where do you pick up the input and output from on the magnetic lock
