Wouldn't it be possible to creat some kind of advanced Magnetic Field and use it for Aircrafts. - Im sure you know with proper material and energys sourse Magnetic energy can be used to lift light weight objects, Why can we not use the same technology for large scale objects?

Electromagnet technology isn't very efficient now, and Earth's magnetic field isn't that strong. Not to mention the health effect.

The distance involved is too great. Commercial aircraft fly at 35,000 feet or 7 miles high. Unpressureized general aviation aircraft fly at 3,000 to 9,000 feet or 0.6 to 1.8 miles high. The typical weight of a small GA aircraft with pilot and gas might be 2250 lbs. That much magnetic force over that much distance is just not practical. The airfoil of the wings and tail surfaces are orders of magnitude more efficient at generating lift and control forces for the energy input.

A typical GA aircraft will have a four cylinder engine of 115 to 150 Horsepower and burn somethin like 6 gallons of aviation fuel per hour. In this hour the aircraft will travel, depending on the prevailing winds, anywhere from 80 to 140 miles over the ground at an airspeed of 110 mph with up to a 30 mph wind from any direction.

What do you imagine the energy input for magnetic levitation would be?

Hi,

Maybe a larger aircraft. Remember the B-36 that flew with a mock-up of a nuclear reactor hanging in the breeze? Lots of power there, but licensing might present a problem.

OK but what would the magnetic field work against?

And as an aircraft is mostly aluminium, initial levitation may be a problem, although once moving is should show magnetic repulsion.
I think we should all just weight... for Anti-gravity....
