Hi,
I have four magnets and the following two orientations possible:

1) Stack up two magnets each on either side of a bar of magnetic steel and use this as a dipole

2) Put one magnet each on four ends of a "+" like structure made of magnetic steel

Would I get a better overall magnet with 1) or 2) ? and why?
