I am building a circuit for a university project. I am at the simulation phase, and I a using LTSpice. On running the simulation it gives me the following error.

don't know how to detect the circuit's steady state

Here is my circuit,


So the idea is to use an opto-couple 4N25 to protect the micto controller, switching a IRF3205 Power MOSFET. I am a newbie to LT Spice.

Can you post the .asc file. I'm way to lazy to redraw it.
I'm trying to understand why the V2 symbol is so small. Might also try a FET from the standard library.

 

V2 might not be recognized as a voltage source. Try using a voltage source component, like V1, using the component selector.

Uncheck the 'steady state' box in the Edit Sim Command dialog box.
Also, your .tran command includes the 'step' command but your circuit has no current source which can be stepped.

@eetech00 I tried using a signal source for V2 using a DC signal of 12V, the error persists.

the Mosfet used .model
Mosfet Datasheet and THe Opto Datasheet.

Also, your .tran command includes the 'step' command but your circuit has no current source which can be stepped.

Yes, remove the check box to stem current source.
I think I would also remove the maximum time stem of 1 ms.
